Week of Intensive Treatments (WIT)
We have developed a special program called Week of Intensive Treatment designed for children in need of multidisciplinary treatments.
The program includes: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutritional counselling, psychological support, epilepsy assessment. We focus also on caregivers, training them on how to deal with disabilities and continue rehabilitation at home.
In this clinic we treat children with orthopaedic conditions using corrective casts and implementing Ponsethi method for the treatment of Club Foot.
Inuka works closely with the surrounding community; it runs 3 community rehabilitation centers located in nearby villages and towns. These centers have the aim to provide treatments at the doorstep of the patients, promote social inclusion and ensure school inclusion of children. The carpentry section of the workshop produces assistive devices for daily living such as: postural chairs, standing frames, toilet chairs and other aids tailored to the patient.
